Technical difficulties

I’m having a few growing pains with this blog, as its increased visitorship attracts an increase in comment. trackback, and other more (and some less) ingenious attempts at spamming and abuse. Someone has also been sending a flood of e-mail spam recently with addresses in my domain forged in the headers.

  • If you subscribe to notifications of entries by category, be warned that this feature is not currently working reliably, in part because some recipients’ mail servers are blocking e-mail from this server or entire domain. If you want to be sure not to miss any new articles, check the blog itself periodiclly, or subscribe to the RSS feed.

  • I’ve temporarily turned off automatic comments and trackbacks until I can implement some addiitonal anti-spam measures. I’m sorry to do this, and I hope to turn them back on soon. In the meantime, I encourage you to e-mail me with any comments or trackbacks, and I’ll be happy to post them manually.

"Don't believe anything just because you read it on the Internet. Anyone can say anything on the Internet, and they do. The Internet is the most effective medium in history for the rapid global propagation of rumor, myth, and false information." (From The Practical Nomad Guide to the Online Travel Marketplace, 2001)
