"How an airline's bankruptcy might affect travelers"

“If I were a bettin’ man, I’d put some money on a big airline filing for bankruptcy protection in the not-too-distant future,” says my fellow travel journalist and consumer advocate Christopher Elliott in this wire-service story in the Settle Times, other newspapers, and on his own Web site.

I agree with Chris Elliott. It’s a matter of which airline is next, and when — not if.

Thanks to Chris for quoting from my FAQ About Airline Bankruptcies , which goes into much more detail than he had space for in the confines of a newspaper article.

"Don't believe anything just because you read it on the Internet. Anyone can say anything on the Internet, and they do. The Internet is the most effective medium in history for the rapid global propagation of rumor, myth, and false information." (From The Practical Nomad Guide to the Online Travel Marketplace, 2001)
